A legacy of 39 years, run by the second generation
Desert Sky Tours was founded in 2005 by the late Mr. Himmat Singh Rathore (Lala Bana), who had already spent years managing the safari desk at Narayan Niwas Palace before starting his own venture. His son, trained under him since childhood, now runs the business with the same standards.
What 39 years actually changes
Local, not outsourced

Family-run

Common questions
What's the best time of year for a Jaisalmer desert safari?
October to March is the most comfortable window, with cool mornings and evenings. December and January nights get cold in the desert camp, so we provide extra blankets. April to June is peak heat and best done as short early-morning or sunset rides only.
Can you plan a full-day itinerary combining sightseeing and a safari?
Yes — most guests do fort and haveli sightseeing in the morning, rest through the afternoon, then head out for a sunset camel safari and overnight camp. Tell us your arrival and departure times and we'll fit the pieces around them.
Do you arrange pickup from the hotel, railway station or airport?
Yes, pickup and drop are included with camp and multi-day packages, and available as an add-on for shorter safaris.
Is the desert camp suitable for families with children or older parents?
Yes. We keep a version of the camp with easier camel-cart or jeep access instead of a long camel ride, and can adjust the walking distance to the dunes. Let us know ages and mobility when you enquire.
